D.C. in a nutshell

It almost being Christyn's birthday, I thought I'd let her know how grateful I am for all she did for me while in D.C.

She took me to all the great little places I'd never safely find on my own; like this part of town, with a giant picture of me painted on the building:

We even got to celebrate "Festivus for the rest" of us, where we got to "air our grievances":

I "met the prez", and got to spend a little time with my great friend, Jacob.

Christyn and I went to TubaChristmas !!!..for a little while. It's something everyone should do at least once in their life.

I got to explore the city a little on my own, too.

I found pun-ny signs,

and went to museums with some of the greatest things. Everything from Kermit the frog,...

funny signs from the twenties, to THE ruby slippers.

From Asian art with gauges...

big name artists, we art nerds can never get enough of,

to unicorns.

There is always something great about seeing original artwork close up. You can see how each brushstroke (difficult to identify or understand how it contributes, when looked at so closely)

helps to create the big beautiful picture:

Christyn taught me the ways of the metro, and took me anywhere I wanted.
Although I'd take the metro, walking was a must...lot's of walking. My feet were killing by the end of every adventurous day :)

Thanks Chris! Happy birthday, and thanks for everything!

D.C. was the best.

Its not a unicorn. Its a stallion with a sword on its head. And it protects all my hopes and dreams.

Oh cool! I've only been to DC once, years ago, and it really is an interesting city, isn't it? Somehow I missed every single thing you mentioned here so I'll just have to go back again. the "air your grievances" wall cracks me up. Hah!
