Not Sure

So, March 31st is She's Funny That Way Day, and I honestly don't know why this is a "holiday". All I could find were songs about it...Hope you enjoy. :)

homework is the devil

I have been trying to do homework for the past hour and a half, but it’s ridiculous. My senioritis has flared up so bad I don’t know if there is any hope of ever having the mental capacity to do homework again.

I have the loudest stomach in the universe. I’m sitting here in the library, and it is going to town. What is wrong with me?! I’m pretty sure peanut butter is the culprit. Every time I eat the stuff my stomach starts a’rollin’. If you are ever sitting next to me and are offended by my tummy’s tantrums, please understand my embarrassment as well. I’m not one to get embarrassed easily, but with a growler like mine… It started getting really loud when I got back from China, so I’m going to keep blaming it on my mysterious Chinese disease.

Switching gears: it’s Pencil Day! So, be sure to use a pencil today. I did, and I know it has made a huge difference in my life.

Tree or Dinosaur

I've walked past this Godzilla of a plant almost everyday for the past 4 years, and it has yet to stop looking like a dinosaur to me. It will probably make it on my list of

Not Too Shabby

What a fast week! Seeing it was spring break for the university I didn’t have any classes in the afternoons. I spent my time…wisely? Well, probably not. At least I had fun celebrating National Puppy Day on Monday, National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day Tuesday, and Kick Butts Day on Wednesday. Monday my co-op teacher and I wore Puppy Day pictures on our shirts (refer to photo). Later I went to the store, and looked for a puzzle to do to prevent Alzheimer’s. That’s when I found the most perfect puzzle! Included was a puppy for me to adopt for puppy day! (again, refer to photo). Naturally I had to buy it, and who doesn’t want to put together a puzzle with puppies playing on the beach? When I found out the puppy’s head bobbled I was just thinking that this day could NOT get any better.

Tuesday I ended up eating my daily calorie intake in chocolate covered raisins, and Wednesday I quite smoking…not that I smoked before, but I definitely didn’t Wednesday! Thursday was Make up Your Own Holiday Day, WHICH I slightly neglected to do. I did have a snack a student let me try from I think Spain, so I declared it National International Snack Day.

Today was Education and Sharing Day, which I’m sure I had my fill of at an art teachers meeting all day…Tomorrow is Eggsibit Day, where you decorate Easter eggs…It’s still a bit to early for that kind of thing, so I’m just going to make it normal Exhibit Day. The town is having an Art Walk, and I am there. Not sure what I’m going to do for Texas Loves the Children Day on Sunday, but I’ll definitely let you know when I know. Happy Holidays!

Did You Celebrate Water Today?

Today is World Water Day. How do I celebrate? I took a shower...And this afternoon my roommate and I went down to the river. This is Andrea studying:
This is me thinking about water:

There was even a special show on the river for the event. We got there just in time:
It was actually just a boat passing, but it.was.GREAT.

Happy Water Day! Can't wait until next year :)

Pancakes Anyone?

This has been the best decision of my entire life. Granted it's only been a couple days, but so far so good. This morning I made whole wheat pancakes for my roommates for Common Courtesy Day(When you make food, you should make enough for everyone), and of course we ate them with 100% pure maple syrup for Maple Syrup Day (not to be confused with National Maple Syrup Day in Dec.)
I'd call this one a uni-cake
Having breakfast together was really nice :) Then, Kristin and I were off to the flee market to look at junk. That was fun. I saw an old friend I hadn't seen in years (somehow I bump into people no matter where in the world I go), and then we bought some hand-made jewelry and a corn dog! What is Corn Dog Day without having a corn dog?

But I had already bought corn dogs for the celebration. So, when I got home I had 3 more with a bowl of organic tofu chili...odd. I know. And you know how people tend to over eat during the holidays.

You know that feeling you get the night before Christmas? That's how I feel everyday...I mean, so far.

EVERYDAY'S A HOLIDAY

SOOOO! TODAY is a very special day! TODAY is the 50 day count down until GRADUATION! I AM PUMPED. I was thinking of the best way to go about this, and I found the most perfect thing to do. EVERYDAY until May 9th I am going to celebrate those silly holidays no one knows about. EVERYDAY IS A CELEBRATION anticipating the ULTIMATE CELEBRATION!

TODAY:
Great American Meatout Day
Proposal Day
National Agriculture Day

SOOO! Thus far I have managed to not eat meat, AND one of my friends just walked in the library. I proposed…He has yet to answer. He asked some questions, but never answered…AND I definitely ate a salad for lunch today to celebrate Agriculture Day.

Yesterday I was compiling pictures from my experiences from college, and I really didn’t document too much my first couple years…This is a wonderful excuse for me to do some pretty exciting things and make some pretty fun memories my last 50 days here. Want to celebrate with me? Maybe give me a date, I’ll tell you what I’m celebrating, and we can celebrate together! If you are near or far we can figure something out.

Life is so wonderful right now. I’m living the life I’ve been working towards. It’s nice.

Why Aren't We Related?

Do you ever think to yourself “I wish that man was my uncle?” Then you could hang out with them, have great times, pick up some of their genius, and be famous by association. I’ve got a pretty long list, but I found someone who is definite in the top 5! Victor Borge was an amazing pianist, and so clever too. Thanks to the magical world of PBS I have learned of this amazing man…I recommend you look him up. He makes me smile :)

My Comfort

I'm grateful for my bear. Many of you have met him. Whenever I'm having a tough day, his little vanilla smelling bottom just makes everything okay. People are funny with what gives them comfort...

What's yours?

My New Babies

My sister got me a cactus kit when she went to Palm Springs a little while back, and the other day I found it! They grow up so fast, don't they? It's only been a couple weeks...Spring is coming! I can't wait to get a garden growing.

How to lose 5lbs in 20min.

I went to school and ended up donating blood. It was mainly for the free food and sweet flip flops...and to do a good deed for the day. But come on! Those are some pretty sweet flip flops. I'm wearing them every single day for the rest of the year.

What's Up

Had to interview at a job fair today. Is it weird that I actually enjoyed the interviews? I got to speak about what I love. Makes answering questions that much easier. The interviewers had really nice things to say followed by a “but unfortunate we aren’t hiring art teachers right now”..which wasn’t a surprise.

In other news: Have you heard about this? International Pillow Fight Day is coming up next month…We will have to see what’s going on then, but this sounds like an opportunity if there ever was one.

Lovely Weather We're Having

This weekend was pretty nice back home. Miranda and I stopped at Serpent Mound and got a call on our way home saying the kids were over for pizza and a movie night. I about cried with excitement! The weather is amazing!!! I’ve been on hikes, walks and fieldtrips. Get outside! Enjoy it while it’s here!

PS- I’m working on a community arts presentation thing. It should be pretty amazing. I’ll be sure to share the happenings with that. Expect it mid April

Blog ya later :)

What I've learned about Myself

Have you seen this? Tons of people have been tagging their friends as one of these on Facebook. This is the most common one posted…What have I learned? My friends find me to be the innocent, good little church going ginger…It could be worse…

All I know is that I’m a little sick of getting FB notifications over these…

Call Me Crazy...

...but I'm pretty sure this is one of the most beautiful babies in the world. Can't wait to see him, and one of the most handsome little boys in the world next week!!! (Sorry Brad. I'm not talking about you...although I'm excited to see you too:)
