My New Gig
So, my older sister took my little sister's senior pictures this weekend. My job was to move these big light reflecting things (I'm sure that's the technical name) so that the sun would shine where it was needed. I must say, I think I might have something going for me here.
I'm so cool.

A Series of Un and/or Semi-Fortunate Events
First off: I was expecting a very important package.
Second: I wanted to go home for the weekend to spend the beautiful Arbor Day taking a walk with some of the fam on the bike trail.
This is what happened:
3:30, no package. I go to campus to pick up my tassel (because I'm graduating in 15 days). I check my email, and track my package. It's supposedly been on the truck since 9:10am. Thinking the little guy couldn't take too much longer I head to the house in hopes of seeing it waiting on the porch.
4:15, no luck. I double check to make sure I didn't over look it. I walk out on the porch, look everywhere, open the screen door and the main door shuts in my face. Locked out. I see my roommate's car, so I assume she is home. I ring the doorbell over and over and over. No answer.
4:20, I start walking to the school's library where my other roommate is working (thank goodness). She didn't get off work until 5:00, so I just hung around until then.
5:10, still no package. I pack up, and just want to go home. I get an idea to run UPS and ask what was up. I didn't want my package out on the porch for the whole weekend. I get there, and they assure me it is on the truck. It was Avon day, so they had a ton of deliveries. AVON DAY! I should have known. So, it could be as late as 8:00 before it would arrive.
6:15 I call my sisters to tell them I wont make it in time to go for a walk with them, because it's Avon day. Before heading to the house to wait for the UPS guy I run to McDonald's for some nuggets. I had a long walk earlier, and justified it with my extra calorie burnage. I pull up to pay, and the woman just needed somebody to talk to. she had plenty to say about how hard it was working with some of those people, and her hip was killing her...or was it her knee? I gave her some advice and pulled forward.
6:30, I arrive at the house to find my package! The hunt was over, and I could go home!
What a wonderful day. I got to take a nice walk through the town, meet a UPS man who informed me it was Avon Day (which I know he only meant it was when all the Avon stuff came in for them to deliver, but it doesn't mean we can't celebrate about it), and the way things worked out I ended up at that woman's window when she needed an ear. AND I got my package.
Happy Avon Day!

Uni-Blog
Sunday:
My last day going to Huntington 3rd Branch was sad. I will miss everyone greatly!!! I've made life long friends and through the magical world of Facebook I am sure we will always keep in touch. We have gone through so much together. Whether it was deep frying jello, or riding down white rapids their friendship kept me from going crazy in these isolating hills.
Tuesday:
I've been helping with some high school art events lately, and the county art show was Tuesday. Before I was in charge of punch and cookies, but this time I was promoted to front desk! Talk about movin' on up. That was a fun gig. I basically smiled and looked pretty, among other things. I just felt so much joy in heart sitting in a wonderful museum listening to the harpist play Can You Feel the Love Tonight, and other delightful songs. :) I am honestly going to miss this place (as much as I am ready to leave.) It's starting to feel a little like Cheers. I know more people in this town than my home town. Sitting at that desk was the best thing I could have done before leaving here. I got to talk to just about everyone in the community I wanted to see one last time.
EARTH DAY!
We took our students on a field trip to the Southern Ohio Museum to see Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson. She is a fascinating artist from Columbus with great insight. One of my favorite things she said was that a gift does not belong to us. It is for the future.
Next up was THE BEAR RUN/WALK! Here are some videos to give you an idea on how great it was. (Sorry for the low low quality and wind blowing. That's a camera phone for you...)
We had fun. So a couple of us were going to get our picture with a bear for the "Bear Run/Walk", when Rocky the Rock Star joined us too.
Earth Day is the day that got me thinking about all these little holidays, and It was definitely a good one. I was honestly very disappointing that the theaters around here weren't showing EARTH, but I like to think it was because that much excitement in one day would be just too much.
And now we are here today. This is my last day at institute, so I put together a little something for my awesome teacher! I'm giving her the 'uni-flower', because I know Eva is a very loving person. I also picked up some lovely Dove chocolates today. Here is one I got!
It says "Find little ways to make everyday a holiday."
How perfect is that!

Overall Good Time
The whole crew was in! Spring break is great. Here is a glimpse of the happenings:
First there was COSI. It's a science place for kids. My dad got on a submarine camera and aimed it at a window, and this was the view he found:
Next was Easter
It's tradition to fly kites on Easter in our family, and this is the traditional way to end flying kites:
The rest of the weekend was just fun.
Here are the strongest half naked boys I know:
Which were sometimes sick too.
I should also mention that I did just fine on my Celebration of Scholarship presentations. One was on Community Arts, and the other was with a group about the China trip. I got this classy faux gold pen, which I plan on using anywhere and everywhere a pen is required.
3 more weeks, and I'll have all my classes finished up. I can taste freedom!
Today is Thomas Jefferson Day! Here is a quote to celebrate:
But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine.
